When servicing and replacing electric air conditioning compressors, there are several peculiarities to keep in mind.
Contrary to conventional compressors, the electric motor for the drive comes into contact with refrigerant and refrigerant oil. Therefore solely oil with insulating properties is to be used.
For the replacement of e-compressors, mechanics need to be certified to work on high-voltage systems.
The absence of an oil drain plug requires flushing the ac system before installing a new compressor. This is the only way to ensure the system is free of oil residues and avoid overfilling.
