Learning objectives are also referred to as learning goals, learning outcomes, instructional goals, and other similar names. The word you use to describe them isn't important...it's more important that you clearly describe what it is that you want people to accomplish by the end of your learning experience.
As you get better at writing objectives, you'll find that your instructional design process becomes smoother and more streamlined. Alignment between objectives, content, practice activities, and assessment is key.
