Lots of folks have been asking how the new Honda XR150L compares to the Honda CT125, and so here it is: a side by side comparison of the two!
How does the Honda CT125 compare to the all new XR150L? The two are incredibly similar machines but have some distinct differences. The CT125 has lots of bells and whistles while the XR150 is pretty barebones. But that’s not a bad thing!
The XR150 is noticeably more powerful on pavement than the CT125. It does not bog down going uphill, and it has the speed to overtake other drivers when necessary.
The XR150 has very smooth suspension off-road and handles very predictably. It does not get tossed around the way the CT125 does, but it lacks the skid plate and crash bars for protection.
The CT125 is easy to get on and off of. It sits nearly 3” lower to the ground and it’s seat height is 1.5” lower than the XR150. It’s a hoot to ride and maxes out around 60mph.
The XR150 is approachable and not too tall. It would be wonderful for shorter riders and beginner riders alike.
The bike that’s best for you truly depends what you’ll be doing with it. The CT125 is a fantastic machine and it’s been proven it’s durable and fun to rip! I’ve done long adventures on it and have had zero issues.
The XR150L is smooth and powerful for its size. It would be great for some light trail duty and to cruise dirt roads. It would also make an excellent commuter and could navigate traffic with ease.
Still curious what’s best for you?? Watch this video and find out!
