We were recently asked by the Sawtry Small Business Partnership to video its members on their stands at the Sawtry Show. As the atmosphere is very much 'carnival', Catalyst went prepared with a selection of audio recorders and microphones.
This short video demonstrates the advantage of not relying on the on-board Canon 70D DSLR microphone which is designed to capture any general sound. The 'indoor' interviews were recorded straight onto the Zoom H1 audio recorder - a lightweight' easy-to-use recorder. The outdoor interviews were recorded with a Rode Shotgun VidoMic into the Zoom H1 and Zoom H4 recorders as we had to battle not only with the weather conditions but also the live music being pumped around the show by the PA system.
