Kinh is the dominant ethnicity in Viernam, accounting for 86 percent of the total population. Another 54 minorities make up the rest. Among them, the Ruc tribe, in central Vietnam, is thought to be one of the most isolated in the world. Their existence was unknown until Vietnamese soldiers found them in 1959. That was when more than 100 of them were living naked in caves of the mountains.
