The voice behind such pop hits as "Goodbye To You", "The Warrior", and "Love's Got a Line On You", Patty Smyth split from Scandal to pursue a solo career. In 1987, she released her first solo album, "Never Enough", with the title track as the lead-in single. Co-written by Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman of the Hooters, the song only made it to #61 on the Billboard Hot 100, but made the Top 5 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, peaking at #4. Five years later, Smyth had better chart success as a soloist when "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough", featuring Don Henley, peaked at #2 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Cash Box Top 100 (but did hit #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and #22 on the UK Singles chart). This is the single 45 version, which runs 24 seconds shorter than the original album version.
