The application video shows the process of coring and slicing a CVD Diamond crystal.
To generate slices from grown CVD diamond crystals (further used as seeds), the following steps must be carried out:
Coring: Removal of PCD-graphite layer
Slicing: Cutting cube in thin slices
By using the production-proven Laser MicroJet® (LMJ), there are plenty of advantages in the cutting and slicing process compared to conventional lasers:
- Faster processing
- Straight cuts, and therefore higher yields
- Smooth surfaces
