UB Stadium is home to the SUNY University at Buffalo Bulls football, soccer, and track and field events. It was opened in 1993 for $23 million and has a capacity of 25,013. The stadium features an outdated track and football mixed surface that causes the spectator's vantage point to feel far away from the action. The uniquely configured double-decker grandstands span the length of the football field, along with a large bleacher grandstand around the south end of the track used as a student section.
The Buffalo Bulls football team is one of the least relevant schools at the NCAA Division I-FBS level. It competes in the lackluster MAC (Mid-American Conference) and breaks into bowl games every few seasons. When you're the small football team in town it's hard to draw fans in attendance, but UBuffalo reduced capacity in 2017 from 29,013 to 25,013.
