The precursor to what we know today as the Catskill style of dry flies, the Little Marryat was created by George Selwyn Marryat of Hampshire, England in the late 1800s. Marryat was one of the forefathers of dry fly fishing, influencing the later American tiers such as Theodore Gordon.
