An in-depth bike check on my Giant TCR Advanced and the changes and setup tweaks aimed at getting me around the 112 mile Fred Whitton with its 3,500 metres of climbing. In setting my bike up it raised the question of weight vs low gears and which is a more important consideration when preparing your bike for a hilly gran fondo or sportive.
