Khaja sweet is very famous is Bengal,Bihar,Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Khaja originated in Maurya dynasty in Silao village in Bihar. Wheat production was profound in Maurya Dynasty which gave birth to this sweet.
This layered pastry sweet dipped in jaggery or maple syrup is quite similar to Baklava sweet in Middle East.
In this recipe, we have tried to recreate the original odisha khaja with every detailed step by step recipe. Please follow each step carefully to make the perfect layered sweet.
It is made in desi cow ghee & brown sugar syrup. You can fry the khaja in refined oil & dip it in sugar syrup.But I would recommend you to use the same ingredients as shown in the video to get the heavenly taste of khaja at home.
