Born in Gronau, Germany (north of Dortmund), Udo Lindenberg began his career in the music business in the alte 60s. His first charting album, “Alles klar auf der Andrea Doria”, reached #23 on the German album chart in 1974. Many more charting albums and sigles followed.
The album, “Ich Will Dich Haben”, appeared in 1991 and reached #11. The album gave rise to two hit singles, “Ein Herz Kann Nicht Repariem” (#29) and “Geh Nicht Weg” (#90). “Ein Herz..” was written by Anete Hump, who had previously written and produced “Codo”, a #1 German hit for DÖF in 1983. She had also been a member of the German new wave band, Ideal, who had four German hits in 1981-2, including “Monotonie”, which reached #21 in 1982.
In 2008, Udo had his first #1 German album, when “Stark Wie Zwei" charted in the spring of that year.
