There are reports that between 30 to 50 people have been injured after a ferry crashed into a dock in New York.
More than 50 people were injured in New York on Wednesday after a commuter ferry crashed into a pier near Wall Street during morning rush hour, sending passengers 'tumbling on top of each other'.
Two people were described as being in a critical condition after the crash, which took place at about 8.45am. In total 57 of the 326 passengers on board were treated for injuries with many being taken to local hospitals.
The 140 foot ferry was taking commuters from Atlantic Highlands in New Jersey, where it had left at 8am, to Lower Manhattan when it crashed into the dock at Pier 11.
The ferry was said to be travelling at between 10mph and 12mph when the crash happened.
Scores of passengers had to be taken off the ferry on stretchers. The boat, the SeaStreak Wall Street, had a large gash in its side.
One passenger, Ellen Foran, 57, of Neptune City, New Jersey, said: "We were pulling into the dock. The boat hit the dock. We just tumbled on top of each other. I got thrown into everybody else. People were hysterical, crying."
