What's up guys? I'm back this week with some Sepultura. I remember someone in my comments a while back requesting some Andreas Kisser-era Sepultura. Since the new album Quadra is amazing (!), and the drama and instrumentation of this song really caught me, I decided to learn it. Also, I really love the concept behind the album!
Gear used: EVH 5150III Combo, Jackson SLSMG (early model), POD HD 500. On the POD I used U-Vibe Modulation during the clean intro and Echo Reverb on the first Phrygian riff. No amp sim used for this one. Recorded with Zoom H6 X/Y. Learned by ear, so all mistakes are mine! I was playing the song in drop D for a while and that's perfectly doable, but it's definitely easiest to play in D Standard.
I feel like the song conveys a conflicting feeling of hope and hopelessness at the same time, which fits quite well with what's been happening across the world. If you feel trapped or hopeless right now, please don't give up! There is only one way things can get better, and that's by you, me, us collectively making them better! :)
I also transcribed the title track of this album ("Quadra"). I was informed by Mr. Kisser that this beautiful piece is a classical guitar quartet... any classical players out there want to try record it with me?
Also, as you might have noticed, I've strolled into green screen territory. What a hoot to try and pick a background, I was so tempted to pick footage of outer space or an aquarium! (And I probably will at some point..... haha.) Let me know if you like this one! ;)
Health & love, xoxox
PS. I don't own the copyright to this music, but I hope that if you don't know the album "Quadra" yet, you'll have a listen after watching my video!
