Sexual shame can embed itself in your body and impact you in ways that aren't so obvious. This is my story of something that happened to me when I was 5, and how the sexual shame I received from that experience has shaped the rest of my life.

Seemingly "little" things like this happen all the time, but their impact doesn't get a lot of attention because of the way our society and culture views sex and trauma.

Sexual shame lives in the body. Or at least, it can... It has lived in my body for almost 30 years, and still is right now.

Now, thanks to uncovering this sexual shame, I'm able to accept and love this part of myself... and in doing so, integrate this entire experience.
