In support of the Enhanced Defence Cooperation Program with the Philippines, training is being conducted between the Australian Defence Force and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Australian Army soldiers deployed to the Philippines in late August 2022 as part of the 3 RAR-led Land Mobile Training (LMTT) Team 4 under the Joint Australian Training Team – Philippines.
The LMTT will deliver bespoke training to the First Scout Ranger Regiment of the Philippine Army aimed at bolstering defence ties and strengthening interoperability between the two armies in urban and jungle operations.
the Armed Forces of the Philippines will also share skills and knowledge on jungle operations such as mountain and jungle operations, knot tying, pekiti tersia kali (knife/stick fighting and hand to hand combat), and combat tracking.
