It is know fact that the media frequently portrays Haiti in a negative light instead of show casting its beauty attributes. It is even more painful to acknowledge the fact that some Haitian citizens are, not only completely ignorant of their own country's splendor but several are even ashamed and deny even being Haitian. Unfortunately, as people, Haitians tend to focus only on Port-au-Prince; we don't try to explore and learn about the other, more beautiful, parts of our country. People should realize that Haiti isn't limited to just Port-au-Prince; it has so much more to offer if we just take the time to discover it's wonders.
As a Haitian citizen, I have visited almost all the different provinces of the country, and I can say that Haiti is one of the most beautiful countries I have visited. I'm not being bias because it is my home, but I'm saying this because I took the time to see beyond what the medias are showing, I took the time to go find more about my country and it's beauty. "Ignorance doesn't kill you it makes you sweat a lot"-Haitian proverb
