🇹🇷🍲 STAFF MEAL #76: CHICKPEA LAMB STEW (NOHUT YAHNI)
Our version of Turkish chickpea stew - Nohut Yahni
Hearty, warm, and such a satisfying meal especially since its been raining the whole week.
The lamb shoulder was tender and succulent, the chickpeas perfectly soft and creamy yet still having a slight crunch to it. The stew so creamy and earthy with all the lovely warm spices, making it such a perfect medley of flavors.
We had leftovers and had some for breakfast 2 days later. It was even more creamy and the flavors more concentrated, making it even better than the first day we had it.
I added in some ladies fingers for the 2nd round and had it with some sourdough toast.
What a wonderful and delicious meal to start or end the day with!
Here's How You Make It:
Lamb 1.5kg
Chickpeas 300g
Cumin powder 1 tbsp
Cumin seed 1 tbsp
Fennel seed 1 tbsp
Coriander seed 1 tbsp
Paprika 1 tbsp
Cayenne 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Kurma powder 2 tbsp
Magic 1 tsp
Tomato 2 large
Potato 3 large
Chopped onion 2 tbsp
Garlic mince 2 tbsp
Dried chili 4 pcs
