During 2020's darkest days, one man was brave enough to give the Geometry Dash community its first modern extreme demon...
Or at least I think? I've never looked into it. But it'll be fine because at least someone else has, right..? RIGHT!?
As I'm typing this I don't know if this is my best video or my worst video. I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning. Man I would hate being the idiot that destroyed themselves over Acu by Neigefeu.
My favourite activity, looking into obscure details about art movements that nobody cares about except me. Bonus points that all available information on that art movement is hearsay that confict each other. If I've made a historical error, please tell me (nicely, I'm a sensitive man). This thing wasn't exactly the easiest thing to research since all of the old details were lost to time or misreported. I probably made a few.
Before you comment, I obviously know that Minimalism by Tygresek exists. I didn't mention it in a video about Geometry Dash's modern history would be extremely misleading. As its title suggests Tygresek's level is minimalism, but minimalism and modern are two completely different things. The level may have many superficial elements that modern shares but on the Numptaloid youtube channel we do not boil down movements to their aesthetics. The level itself didn't end up contributing much if anything at all to the developement of what we know as modern today. I use Synthetyc by Verticallity as patient zero because unlike Minimalism by Tygresek, it inspired other creators and its intent as modern was not the same as just minimalism on its own. Call the level proto-modern if you want, but we must make the destinction that it wasn't a part of or an influence for the formation of modern in 2016, therefore it's not noteworthy to modern outside of him getting lucky with accidentally making something similar to a huge genre of levelmaking months before anyone else did (that we know of).
This thing took forever to come out, I don't feel like typing why right now. It's gonna be a very long session of typing to explain why. To summarise, my brain imploded on myself and I spent 4 months straight suffering the pain that came from it. I almost died because I have the Pokemon Mega-Blastoise of mental illnesses. I'll just say that Phil Elverum and Daniel Johnston are now my best friends.
