She came, she saw, she shopped. The Barbie movie opened this past weekend and has turned the Pop Icon into the Princess of Hollywood. She's the best-selling doll in history AND a cultural lighting rod. She's worked for NASA and has a medical degree. She's ran for President numerous times and has been an officer in the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. Her resume as as wild as the controversies surrounding her. We trace her blonde roots all the way back to her predecessor, Lilli, the German doll of "ill repute," and follow her inspirational origin at Mattel at the forthright hands of Ruth Handler. Barbie overcame a lot to become who she is, and who that is, depends on who you ask! Is she an inspiration of female empowerment or something else? One thing is for sure, you can't ignore her. She's EVERYWHERE! We touch on it all and this edition of Where's the Fun from?
