The Tam Tam Mandingue Djembe Academy was founded in 1992 by Grand Master Drummer Mamady Keita from Guinea, West Africa. A special certification has been created by M. Taylor, TTMDA Senior Instructor, Director of TTMDA - Chicago and Mattew Henry, Associate Teaching Professor of Percussion at University of Missouri - St. Louis (with guidance from Kelvin Kew, TTMDA Vice President and Senior Instructor) that caters to those teaching percussion in a collegiate/university environment.
