This summer, learn how to make Punjabi Sweet Lassi, a quick and easy Indian Yoghurt Drink that’s a refreshing and cooling drink. This is an authentic Punjabi recipe that’s sweet but also has a touch of savory from the yoghurt. The basic recipe is just Yoghurt, Sugar and ice and rest is just flavourings and garnishes. This Punjabi Sweet Lassi recipe takes only a few minutes to make and it can be prepared in advance. You can refrigerate it for up to 2 days. However, it tastes much better and the texture is lighter when it’s fresh.
The recipe is loved by people of all ages, but especially kids. It’s a wonderful way to add healthy yoghurt and milk into your children’s diets. Punjabi Sweet Lassi is high in calcium and protein from the almonds. It’s also great in extremely hot temperatures during the summer months. Punjabi Sweet Lassi Ingredients:
Yoghurt (Dahi) - 1 cup
Cold Milk - 1/8 cup
Ice - 3-4 pieces
Almond - 3-5 pieces + for garnish, finely chopped
Pistachio - 1-2 pieces, finely chopped
Elaichi (Cardamom) Powder - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 4 tsp
Salt - 1/8 tsp, or a pinch
