This video tutorial will show you how to set up and program your Intermatic ET2700 series Digital Timer.
GETTING STARTED:
Power on the timer to set the channels to be operated Independently (IND), Simultaneously (SIMUL), or with a two-second PULSE. Pressing the “PLUS” or “MINUS” buttons allows you to cycle through the options.
In most cases, the preferred setup is to have options to control the channels independently, we will choose Independent (IND) and then press MINUSENTER/NEXT” button.
PRO TIP: Depending on the model and number of channels on your timer, choices will vary. (For more in-depth instructions, refer to timer’s manual)
TIME & DATE SETTINGS
Press “MODE” button until “SET” and “DATE” are visible on the left side of the display with “DATE” flashing.
Set Month by pressing “PLUS” or “MINUS” buttons until the correct month is shown, then press “ENTER/NEXT”.
Select DATE, press “ENTER/NEXT”.
Select YEAR, once the correct YEAR is flashing, verify the current day of the week is shown at the bottom of the display, then press “MODE” button to set time.
Press “PLUS” or “MINUS” buttons to advance minute by minute or hold down either one to scroll faster. (Be conscious of the AM/PM setting as you advance.) Once the correct time is displayed, press “MODE” button to continue.
SETTING DST: Daylight-Saving (DST) setting can be set to ON or OFF. We observe DST, so we set it to be ON.
PROGRAMMING: Press “MODE” button to begin programming.
PRO TIP: You can advance to PROGRAMMING mode at any time by pressing “MODE” button until SET/FIXED, ON/OFF EVENTS and EVENT # are displayed.
SETTING ON EVENTS: Press “DAY” button to select the days you want the ON event to occur. The options are Monday through Friday, weekends, individual days, all days of the week, or custom days like Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
PRO TIP: ON events will be odd numbers, and OFF events will be even.
CUSTOM DAYS: Press “DAY” button to go through each day, leaving the ON indicator for the days you want to be programmed. Press “MINUS” button to remove the ON indicator from days you don’t want programed. In this example, we cleared the custom setting, and set it for Monday through Friday,
Press “PLUS” or “MINUS” buttons to set the time for the ON event.
In this example, the ON event is set to turn the lights ON at 7 PM.
PRO TIPS: If your timer has more than one LOAD (circuit) and is set to operate independently, you can choose which LOAD (circuit) is affected.
Press “ON/OFF” buttons until the correct LOAD or LOADS are displayed.
SETTING OFF EVENTS: To set an “OFF” event, press “ENTER/NEXT”
Press “DAY” button to choose the day or days the OFF EVENT will occur. We set it for Monday through Friday.
Next, choose the time for the “OFF” event by pressing “PLUS” or “MINUS” buttons. We set it to turn OFF at 11PM, for both LOADs (circuits).
PRO TIP: To set a new daily or weekly event, press the “ENTER/NEXT.”
SETTING HOLIDAY BLOCKS: ET2700 series offers 50 unique holiday blocks to program.
Press “MODE” button to enter Holiday mode and “1H” will display. The "1" indicates it's the first Holiday to be programmed.
To choose the Month for the ON event of this holiday block, press “PLUS” or “MINUS” buttons. We chose DEC (December).
To set DATE, press “ENTER/NEXT”. We chose the 23rd.
To set the OFF DATE, press “ENTER/NEXT”. We chose JAN 1st.
To set ON time for all days in the holiday block, press “ENTER/NEXT,” then press “PLUS” or “MINUS” buttons to choose a specific time. We chose 4PM.
Press “ON/OFF” buttons to choose LOAD(s) to be affected. We chose both loads.
To set the OFF time for the holiday block, press “ENTER/NEXT.” We chose 6AM and chose both LOADs to be affected.
To schedule more Holiday blocks, press “ENTER/NEXT.”
To EXIT the programming screen, press the “MODE” button.
PRO TIP: Press the “MODE” button to cycle you through the different timer modes.
AUTOMATIC MODE: “AUTO” is displayed in the top center of the screen. It follows all preprogrammed schedules and allows a manual override.
ENERGY SAVER MODE: A FLASHING “AUTO” is displayed in the top center of the screen. It follows all preprogrammed schedules and allows manual overrides in two-hour blocks.
MANUAL MODE: “MANUAL” mode ignores all preprogrammed schedules and only allows MANUAL operation through “ON/OFF” buttons beneath each LOAD. When chosen, MANUAL is displayed on the top center of the screen.
In this example, we pressed the “MODE” button until “AUTO” was displayed.
