Vim is a great text editor that can be used in the terminal / command line.
The reason that I like using vim is its convenience, whenever you are doing something using the terminal it’s really easy to just type vim and edit a file without opening another app. Next is its speed, it’s definitely one of the fastest opening text editors by far, except for perhaps sublime text. There is also the fact that you can navigate everything by the keyboard, in fact, you can’t even use the mouse (at least by default). This is sometimes a bit hard to get used to, but it’s definitely worth it for not needing to stretch your fingers to your arrow keys and spending a lot of time clicking around.
