Males have the sex chromosomes X Y
Whereas females have the sex chromosomes X X.
A female’s gamete can be X or X, whereas a male's gametes can be X or Y.
A female can only pass on the X chromosome to her offspring.
If the man passes on his X chromosome, the child’s genotype will be X Y,
and will be a boy. If the man passes on his X chromosome, the child’s genotype will be X X, will be a girl.
The chance of a girl is 50%. The chance of a boy is 50%.
