The EU Commission President said that he wished to call out the “lies” of the Leave campaign during the referendum - but then former PM David Cameron told him not to meddle.
He said: "I was wrong to be silent at an important moment."
This comes after Mr Juncker was named
“European leader of the year” at the 2019 European Leadership Awards.
David Cameron called for the EU referendum and campaigned for Remain. He announced his resignation hours after Leave’s victory.
Theresa May replaced him and her premiership has been dominated by sorting out Brexit.
