The Tesla Giga factory has officially opened in Austin Texas! Giga Texas is Tesla's largest factory in the world. With the completion of Giga Texas, Tesla Motors will be moving its headquarters from the Freemont factory in California to Giga Texas in Austin Texas.

Giga Texas will focus on the production of the Tesla Model Y, and will later be joined by the production of the Tesla Cyber truck and the Tesla Semi truck later in 2023.
Giga Texas is making full use of die casting technology with a large section of the production floor dedicated to Tesla’s Giga press machine. The Giga press will be making the entire frame of the Tesla Model Y into one single piece.

Tesla will start manufacturing the 4680 in-house the Giga Texas. This form of battery design is very efficient and powerful. Elon Musk aims to fit the cells into a structural battery pack. This again indicates that Tesla will be producing large-scaled battery packs.

Elon Musk's vision for a purely automated factory might come true with Giga Texas. This vision incorporates that machines will automate the vehicle building process with every part assembled and configured by robots.
