Up for sale is this great condition Bach 37 "Corporation" Stradivarius Bb Trumpet. The serial number puts it at being built in 1965 - most likely one of the first horns built at the new factory with many of the same features that were standard of the "Mt. Vernon" era of manufacture, such as a true side-seam bell and a two-piece valve casing. One of the assistants dubbed it a "Mt. Elkhart" trumpet - some of parts may even have been shipped over from New York!
The horn is in fantastic shape overall, with amazing valves for a 50-year old horn (good compression). While the leadpipe does have some external cosmetic signs of red rot, there are no signs on the interior meaning that there could be decades left of playing without needing to change it. The bell has been stripped to raw brass and much of the lacquer is still on the rest of the horn. There is wear at various contact points with some flaking/scratches (see pictures).
Sold with the original case (it is the same as the Mt. Vernon case but with Elkhart emblem) in very good +++ condition (springs even work).
