Pandav Falls
Pandav Caves
Places to visit near Khajuraho & Panna Hiding Place of Pandavas
vlog no.74
Welcome once again dear friends....Today we are going to explore the pandava caves and pandava falls...As the name says this tourist attraction is named after the legendary Pandava brothers of the epic Mahabharatha. This place is believed to an hideout of the pandavas during their exile.
This scenic natural beauty is located just 34 kms away from the Khajuraho and it is situated inside the core area of the Panna National Park in Madhya Pradesh.
The Pandav water falls is a serene water fall which cascaded down from a height of 30 meters in to a heart shaped pool. At the foot of the water falls we can see some ancient caves overlooking the large pool. Near to the water falls and just below the caves we can see some constructions which were done by Raja Chatrasal of Bundelkhand as his hunt rest house. The crystal clear pristine water dropping from the rocks above tastes exceptional with the richness of it's mineral values.
We can also see a small building which is used as a shelter for the visitors in case of unexpected attacks from wild animals as this place is famous for the frequent citing of tigers and bears.
We can also see some marks on the tree trunks made by the bears who frequently visit this place.
But dontbe worried about the wild animals...we are accompanied by a government approved guide from the forest department who is well equipped to trace the presence of the wild animals. Another attraction of this place is the old layered rock formation of the sandstone on the sides of the stairs ..I don't know whether all people have noticed this rare thing, but when we asked about this to the guide he said it is the sand stone and it is very old. So if you are visiting there, please note that...And on post monsoon season the water fall is full ..
A small stream breaks out from the Ken river towards the Pandav falls and later it flows and joins the Ken river near Raneh falls.
An another story is also associated with this place. It is said that the great freedom fighter and revolutionary leader Chandrasekhar Azad held a meeting of the fellow revolutionaries at this place on 4th September 1929. In the memory of this a statue of Chandrasekhar Azad was placed in the parking area in 2010.
Hope I have done my jog fairly ...Each time I am trying to improve the way I can communicate with you everything I have captured from there...
The Pandav Falls & Pandav Caves are a must visit place near Khajuraho as it is a part of the Panna National park...Guys I forgot to mention that this place comes under the territory of tiger T1......The forest guards spot it most often at this pace ..but they can track it and inform us ..so no need to worry ...It is a must visit place which is a magnificent and exceptional natural treat to our eyes and don't forget to drink that crystal clear water that drops from the above rocks and please try to keep the ecosystem neat and clean by not throwing the plastic bottles and covers there...
Thanking for your valuable time..
regards
