A new study has found that the death toll in Gaza is likely higher than what has been reported.
According to the Hamas-run Ministry of Health, its latest figures show that nearly 40,000 Palestinians have been killed and around 80,000 have been injured.
However, a new study published in "The Lancet" suggests that the death toll could actually be much higher.
Researchers at the peer-reviewed medical journal estimate the total figure of dead to be more likely near 186,000, calling their number "conservative" and one that includes those missing, trapped under rubble and killed from a lack of food, water and medical care.
