Rick Barry is a retired American basketball player renowned for his scoring prowess in the NCAA, ABA, and NBA. Barry is the only player to lead these three leagues in points per game for a season. He holds the ABA records for highest regular-season (30.5) and postseason (33.5) scoring averages, and his 36.3 points per game in the NBA Finals remain unmatched. Barry was also the sole player to score 50 points in a Game 7 playoff until 2023, when Stephen Curry and Jayson Tatum reached that milestone. He is one of four players to win championships in both the ABA and NBA. Barry's underhand free throw technique is legendary, contributing to his .880 free throw percentage in the ABA and .900 in the NBA at retirement. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987 and named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996. In 2021, he was honored on the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
