(7 Mar 2022) Dozens of women staged a protest in front of Chile's presidential palace on Monday ahead of International Women's Day.
The protest was called "Super Feminist Monday" and included the performance "A rapist in your path" popularized by the collective Las Tesis.
Nataya, who did not give her last name, said that the protest was also to say farewell to the government of President Sebastian Pinera, which she said should have not been allowed to complete its term due to the protests that took place during his term in 2019.
That year, protests sparked by a subway fare hike broadened into a social movement demanding greater equality.
Most protests were peaceful, but many evolved into violence, with arson, looting and clashes between masked protesters and security forces.
Protesters also made calls to participate in the general strike and march called by the 8M Feminist Coordinator for Tuesday.
