This video is part of infoWERK’s Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS) e-learning course. Controlled flight into terrain remains a leading cause of aviation accidents. To avoid such accidents Terrain Awareness and Warning Systems (TAWS) have been designed. The TAWS course provides the required academic knowledge and fulfills the requirements of GM1 CAT.OP.MPA.290 Ground proximity detection, TERRAIN AWARENESS WARNING SYSTEM (TAWS) FLIGHT CREW TRAINING.
The present video explains mode 4B and 4C.
Mode 4b is active during cruise and approach when the landing gear is down and locked but the flaps are not in landing configuration. Mode 4C is active after take-off and prevents inadvertent flight into the ground.
