Dehsabz City Development Authority (DCDA) Monday announced that the Dehsabz city project will be initiated in 2010 and the project will take 15 years to be completed. The New Kabul City project is located in areas north of Kabul, between Kabul International Airport and Bagram military Airbase including all Dehsabz district, some villages of Sharkardara, Mirbachakot, Qarabagh and Kalakan districts and most areas of Barikab area. The city will have the capacity of about three million people.
Talking to a ceremony on behalf of Dehsabz city introduction to media and people, Mahmoud Saikal Senior Advisor and Acting CEO said to reporters that the new city project at Dehsabz area need total investment for building the new city around $35.5B in 16 years, saying that $24 billion of the mentioned amount is expected to be generated from private sector investments, the remaining $11.5B is expected to be provided by the Afghan Development Budget, revenue from land sales, leases and taxes of the project, donor agencies, and income from Public-Private Joint Ventures (PPJV).
