Spatz is a 13 week juvenile female Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who was found facedown on the footpath under a large fig tree, with a faceful of fallen figs and dirt.
She has some alopecia (fur loss) and some grazes on her thumb pads and knuckles, a ding on her nose, and some concussion or a closed head injury. It's hard to tell at this stage.
If she survives the night, I'll put dressings on her grazes. So far she's just had fluids and glucose and analgesia, and she's back to bed for the night.
Hang in there my little sparrow, my little figgy faced Spatz.
Update: Spatz deteriorated and died on day 3. I'm not sure why but I'm leaning towards her having internal injuries - either that or a brain bleed.
RIP little love.
