The Ionity is a rapidly (get it?!) growing network of rapid chargers across Europe. Capable of up to 350kW charging, our editor Danny Morgan went to see what all the fuss is about.

The Ionity Charging Network is pan-European network of rapid chargers, charging at up to 350kW. The network is a joint venture set up and run by a number of vehicle manufacturers including BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Volkswagen Group, Porsche and Audi.

Charging using the Ionity network is really simple. No need to use an app or an RFID card, you can just use a contactless payment or pay as you go using the website - although the app does make things a little easier.

The "plug in, pay and go" naure of the Ionity chargers make them a breeze to use and should give EV drivers confidence for longer journeys.
