I knew that there have been two Frank Costanza's on Seinfeld although the first one, John Randolph only appeared for only one episode. He was replaced by Jerry Stiller. However I didn't realise that Larry David wanted better continuity throughout the whole series and had Jerry Stiller re-shoot Frank's scenes in the episode The Handicap Spot.
