Hundreds of migrants at the Lipa facility near Bosnia’s border with Croatia have been aided by military provisions after days of hardship in freezing cold weather.
Doctors set up medical tents for health examinations and distributed medicine to the ailing migrants, Monday, January 11.
About 1,000 migrants were left without shelter after a fire gutted most of the camp in late December.
Since then, despite military intervention the residents of the camp have complained of respiratory and skin diseases. The camp also went without electricity or running water while temperatures plummeted.
An emergency team from the Danish Refugee Council has attempted to triage the migrants over the past few days.
Bosnia is struggling to contain an influx of thousands of people trying to reach Western Europe through the Balkans. (AP)
