The Haunted Hotel by Wilkie Collins - an excellent Victorian thriller with murder mystery and supernatural elements. The deaths of Lord Mountbarry and Mr Ferrari spark curiosity and intrigue across Europe that culminates with former acquaintances of the Lord making their way to the Hotel in question, restored, but not to the point where its past is entirely hidden.
