"Unstoppable energy, enthusiasm, curiosity, and always one step ahead of the pack" is a colleague's description of Graham. Patients and colleagues applaud his commitment to Family Medicine, which is deeply rooted in his belief that family practice reaches far beyond the office.
Graham has practiced in Burlington, Ontario for over 30 years. He has served as Chair of Family Medicine at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital and is the Medical Director for the Halton Diabetes Education Centre and an Associate Clinical Professor at McMaster University Medical School.
As a leader in practice, Graham started using and teaching about electronic medical records early in his career and manifested his research inquisitiveness by obtaining his Masters in Epidemiology in 1994.
Many know Graham as past President of the Ontario College of Family Physicians.
On a personal note, Graham enjoys the arts, travel, photography, hiking and reading. He and his wife, Lydia, are proud of their three grown daughters: Gillian, a teacher; Andrea, gourmet chef; and Lynley, an interior designer.
"Family Medicine, the art of translating science into clinical practice, is all about people: people we care for, people we teach, people we learn from, people who give us joy and sadness, people we grow with, people we cry with, people we work with, people who trigger our search for new knowledge"
Dr. Graham Swanson:
