In March 2019, there was a unusually high amount of snow in Colorado, some areas catching 100+ inches of snow in about a week. The slides that occurred during this period were some of the biggest the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) has ever recorded. 100-300 year events for some paths. Included in this are the areas of Copper Mountain, Fremont Pass, & Independence Pass.
