The GEF-UNIDO IEEMS Project, which was implemented 2011-2017, sought to address specific barriers to the uptake of industrial energy efficiency in the Malaysian manufacturing sector and improve the way in which Malaysian industries manage energy through an integrated approach that combines capacity building and technical assistance interventions at the policy level as well as through demonstration projects at the factory level.
The Project’s ultimate goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by establishing an enabling policy environment as well as the national expertise to accelerate the adoption of energy efficient technologies and management systems as an integral part of creating sustainable business practices in industries.
