How to put on a gateng, a traditional Igorot attire of the Mountain Province in Northern Philippines. In this video, the belt called bakget is a little bit too short. This is best done with a helper to help you tighten and do adjustments. The goal is that the belt tassels should be centered at the back. Then, the strings to secure the belt should be taken from the top or middle of each end but not from the bottom. It is best to pair the gateng with a white top so the intricate design of the fabric will stand out.
