First recording of Chopin's last piano sounds! (please subscribe - more videos in preparation) This piano, Pleyel 1848, the last one played by Chopin, was just renovated by Czech-American fortepiano expert Paul McNulty. It was bought by Chopin's student Jane Sterling right after his death and sent to his family in Warsaw. For many years it was in Chopin museum, but was presumed unplayable. Last month this piano was renovated. This video was recorded on 12 December 2021 when this piano was first tuned in the morning and then first played

Aleksandra Świgut is surprised to give an unexpected performance! She's just coming by to see if some notes are already playing on Chopin's last long-silenced piano at the museum. She gave impromptu performance of Chopin's nocturne op.27-2 in D flat major when she stopped by in Chopin Institute on her way to the church, expecting only to touch the keys to confirm the piano might be interesting, but she gracefully agreed to perform. This was the first time this piano had been heard in 60 years!
Aleksandra Świgut is a pianist, graduate and teacher of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, a prize-winner of the 1st International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments in Warsaw (2018).

Musical instruments called pianos have been existed with different timbros from time to time. Please listen to the differences in the sounds of historical keyboard instruments such as after Pleyel, Walter, Stein, Graf, and Boisselot. The beautiful sounds which are very different from the modern piano, will entertain the unique world of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin and Liszt. Replica of modern piano maker Paul McNulty brings classical music back to life as a period instrument. Purchase & Rent new concert pianos after Mozart's Walter & Stein, Chopin's Pleyel, Beethoven's Graf, Liszt's Boisselot, Brahms's Streicher. It's wonderful!
