Some foods such as raw meat can leave behind harmful bacteria and other germs. If you use your butcher block to handle these items you’re going to want to make sure to sanitize it once you’re done using it. We recommend using a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water. Begin by washing your butcher block with warm water and soap to remove any excess food. Then dry with a disposable paper towel and spray the affected area with the vinegar/water solution. You’re going to want to let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing with water. Then follow recommended oil and waxing steps.
