On 7 April 1944, two brave Slovak Jews, Alfréd Wetzler (25) and Rudolf Vrba (19), succeeded in an incredible feat - they managed to carry out their plan to escape from the concentration camp at Auschwitz. Incredible as it may seem, they did it not for themselves, but to give the world a shocking message about the existence of the Nazi death camps and the horrors that took place there.
