*edit to video* since posting this video the 4th Saleen coupe has been found/resurfaced, please disregard the statement about this being 1 of 3 car’s remaining*
Here is a preview of the details going into the '91 Saleen project. We take our work very seriously here, hours and hours are invested in research to be sure we are performing accurate and authentic restorations, regardless of the make and model. A lot of time was invested in the underbody details of this car, this video will give you a brief tour on some of these details. When completed, this mustang will look like it just rolled off the assembly line. All original and nos Ford parts are being used throughout as well. I believe we are raising the bar for concours restored "fox body" mustangs with this car. For those who haven't seen previous posts on this project, let me give you a brief rundown as to why this car is so special.
This Saleen 91-26 is 1 of 4 coupes (also known as a notchback or two door sedan) produced by Saleen for the 1991 model year. Saleen produced a total of 102 mustangs (convertibles, coupes and hatchbacks) in 1991, this car is number 26 built. From 1984 to 1993 Saleen only built 59 coupes! Less than half of them remain today making this car all the more rare. Wild strawberry was considered a "special order" or "special paint" color for Ford and in general very few mustangs came in this color from the factory. It was not a standard color offered by Saleen so only a couple of Saleens were ever built in this color. This is the one and only Saleen coupe painted wild strawberry.
