Hello everyone, today I have for you a delicious peasant dish from Cyprus/ Greece. In Cyprus it is called pizeli and in Greece it is called arakas.
This inexpensive, easy to make dish is vegan, unless you top it with feta :)
Traditionally, you are supposed to use a lot more olive oil than I do, as it is one of the olive oil based dishes. But I don’t think food needs to be swimming in oil, if you use a good olive oil the flavour will come through.
The way I’ve shown you is how my family have always made this dish, but if you wanted you can use dill instead of parsley. Many recipes call for dill anyway. And a lot of recipes use carrot and potato. If you want more sauce use two cups of water instead of one. But I like it the way I make it, and I’m sure you will to.
You can serve this as a side dish or have it as a main.

2.5 cups of peas
1 large onion
2 garlic cloves
3 tbsp parsley
400g tin tomato
1 tsp cinnamon, salt and pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
