Dan van der Ploeg, a Mount Beauty favourite, has a story that will give you all the feels. Above all it will inspire you to live your life to the full. Dan tackle life’s challenges with a kind heart and big smile, something we can all learn from.

We will be cheering our loudest as Dan competes in the XC (Cross Country) Masters 2 in the 2019 MTBA National Championships in Bright.

A little more about Dan's Story
- Dan grew up in Mount Beauty as the oldest of five brothers. All of them have competed for Australia in either cycling or cross country skiing.
- Dan raced in the 2001 MTB World Championships in Vail, America.
- In 2005, whilst on a typical training road ride he was knocked off his bike when a driver was temporarily blinded by the early morning sun.
