When Ted became CMO of ELF Cosmetics in 2008 he discovered a trove of online video by ELF consumers who loved the product. He built on that enthusiasm to create a fully integrated social strategy around a blog, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook where they focused on responsiveness. By embracing the enthusiasm of ELF consumers with social media, ELF grew a huge following with hardly any traditional marketing spend.
